The Green Brook Country
Club has a rich history dating back to 1923 when golf course designer Robert
White, a St. Andrews (Scotland) native and the 1st President of
the PGA of America, transformed a beautiful track of land atop the North
Caldwell mountains into a beautiful par 71 golf course. Other well know
golf courses designed by White include Manasquan River Golf Club in Brielle,
Pine Lakes Country Club in Myrtle Beach and Shorehaven Golf Club in East
Norwalk.
Green Brook
Country Club’s Mission Statement says “Green Brook Country Club is a place
where the genuine care and comfort of our members is our highest priority.
We are committed to provide the finest quality personal service for our
members and their guest to always enjoy a warm yet relaxed refined
atmosphere.” This may be the reason why the club was selected as the site
for the 2010 Super Essex Conference Golf Championship. It would appear
that the Green Brook Country Club has lived up to its Mission Statement. A
visitor who played the club as a participant in a golf outing stated “The
place is beautiful…top shelf. And they do a fantastic job…very
accommodating, friendly and (they) made you feel comfortable, (the)
facilities (are) fantastic.”
